The value in understanding the player experience cannot be underestimated. Anna teaches this in a simple, clear, and enthusiastic way that helps to excite and motivate the game designer.
I loved the format: talk interspersed with a chance to play around with a prototype and make us think about it from different perspectives.
Very well explained with excellent examples and context which made a lot of sense
Really fun engaging workshop – I’ve never designed a game before but came out of this with a prototype I had fun making
The atmosphere was great and the lecture was awesome, Anna did a great job
Great value for money event that was constructive and educational. Allowed each attendee to volunteer their efforts or not without compulsion
I really enjoyed Anna’s approach to teaching basic board game design. She was friendly, enthusiastic, and able to draw from a wealth of experience to bring creativity and insight to the group. I came in with an idea for a theme and left with a better understanding of my audience, mechanics, and a prototype to test and play!
It was everything I was hoping for and more. I liked getting feedback on very early prototype, and also doughnuts.
[I most enjoyed] learning about all the thinking that goes into game design and then being able to put it into practice
This was a fantastic crash course in tabletop game design from a host who has a great deal of successful commercial experience and passion for the subject. They presented the material in an interesting and engaging way and the format of the workshop was an excellent means to put it into practice. Very informative and a lot of fun!
Interactive workshop useful to both amateurs and professionals. Taking a step back to examine process and academic understanding was most useful to me
Very enjoyable, informative, interactive and well presented
We learned lots and had lots of fun too. Really enjoyed it, thank you very much – we’ll definitely put all we’ve learnt into practice, plenty of food for thought
